Rhubarb Wild Wheat Beer – 4.7%

We love to make use of homegrown and foraged ingredients in our beers. The star of the show here is a over a kilogram of rhubarb harvested from our back gardens. Lovely chunky sticks of the stuff we pulled, washed and chopped into pieces. Then put them in spare fermenter with part of a batch of our base dark wheat beer and left it for about 3 months to do it’s thing.
The end result is an beer with a gentle malty based and tonnes of rhubarb aroma and an decent but approachable tartness. It’s not strictly a wild beer, but the introduction of the rhubarb has triggered some wonderful chemistry that makes this a fizzy fruity sharpness that is a real treat.
This is super limited in quantity – about 40 bottles and never to be repeated in the same way again!

MUSIC PAIRING

Given the complex eclectic and journey of a beer this is, one classic springs to mind as a suggested listening choice…

70 Minutes of Madness Mix by Cold Cut
Now just turned 30, this mix was made for the Journeys by DJ series… fits with the beer just right! Kicking of with vintage martial arts movie dialogue, racing through intense jungle breaks, dropping acid beats & bleeps, classic funk tunes, hip hop, soul, ambient, jazz, spoken word and finishing somehow on the original Delia Derbyshire version of the Dr Who theme….. deep breath… this mix somehow blends all of this flawlessly.
